This website is a directory of high-quality resources, lesson plans, and professional development opportunities for New Mexico teachers interested in embedding international education and global knowledge and skills into daily lessons.
Organized according to the New Mexico Content Standards, the lesson plans and resources within have been submitted and reviewed by other teachers who are committed to moderinizing the
curriculum by incorporating global knowledge and skills into classroom instruction.
This project was made possible by an award from the Asia Society and the Longview Foundation to begin deploying opportunities for enhanced learning in the state of New Mexico. Based on a representative survey of New Mexico teachers in 2004, it was clear that educators at all levels believed that an understanding of the world’s countries, languages, and perspectives was very important. Until now, they have lacked the resources (and often the skills) to provide these learning opportunities for their students.
We hope that this website becomes a valuable resource to you and look forward to hearing about your experiences.

Report from the Second Annual Global Solutions Student Forum on Global Warming
On April 28, 2007, 60 middle and high school youth from around New Mexico came together to participate in a facilitated dialogue on Global Warming at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
These youth came from many different backgrounds and educational arenas - Native American, Hispanic, Caucasian, public and private schools, and some who had spent some of their education years being home-schooled. Many had traveled the world. All were passionate about the preservation of our planet and it resources.
Please read the report to find out what they discussed and created that day.
