Social Studies - 5-8 Content Standard I: Geography Students understand how physical, natural, and cultural processes influence where people live, the ways in which people live, and how societies interact with one another and their environments.
Students will investigate and understand the historical movements of people, as well as the curren socio-economic pressures that motivate current day migrations.
Students identify personal cultural traits and compare them with classmates and other students of their age around the world, or at least the cultural ways of groups in different countries.
Students web cam on world cam sites to view a variety of locations around the world. They print their pictures of a chosen site. Grid it on to a larger paper and finish it in a medium of their choice.
Independent study project to conceive, develop and complete a project of the student's own design on a topic of interest based on research into the Brasilian Pantanal.
